Papier Master & its big tongue!

School has started and left behind this general cleaning of our study room . A messy room! All around piles of paper, crushed trashy papers, everywhere top and bottom of the table, trash trash ... till the drawers for mom won't see. A box of last year's books that need to be stored down the canteen . Gosh! what a day!

Out! out for a break ! Strolling along the corridor window shopping and  to avoid the toys and games shop we stopped at the bookstore.  Here comes my son with a book?  Smilingly he made a different choice of interest this time.  I guess my arty time this summer worked!   He picked this Art Attack book with a weird cover page, a basin with eyes pop out,  big mouth and long big sticking tongue,  cannot describe what it is but it attracted his attention.  We scanned the pages and its all art lesson for kids like him.

Papier Master

We got the idea of making it and landed on his room as a useful ornament.  It help me teased his habit of  being messy with his room /study room.  With this  weird looking basin had help to catch his attention and reminds him that we called him PapierMaster & its big tongue!  the paper eater .

Well satisfied by all means this arty lobby is working on him and we continued doing other projects together, pencil holders, snake shoes hooks, diary with its locket etc.. An Arty time even half an hour of the day  is a quality moments together a way of sharing with him this hobby of mine.

Yes, not all of us has the patience and time, but I would say,  "if there's the will,  there's a way"  there are many other ways or whatever activity we may share. This would mean the value of quality time together specially at this stage of their age.  Lets make the most of it  "As time goes By"   flies and  last we know they are on their own.

Not only the value and quality time,  somehow with my Arty Lobby, can teach him the art and logic of handmade.

Simplicity is the focus of creativity

This was nice and definitely right as posted on the wall at FB.  Looking to angles loosing these famous names with their surnames has touched the meaning of  how's our actual state worldwide.  On the other hand, regrettably of our loss of Steve Jobs, a loss of a unique person who had believed and successful in his intuition focusing to simplicity on a good design can move mountains ...my favorite one  from his  famous quotes :
On good design “That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”

A good design would be remembered and will come back live forever again and again. In every angle of a simple design and how simple it may mean, I believed so is the focus of creativity.  Designs in my different line and interpretation to be unique "handmade" for me is original and its one of a kind. While Jobs in his world in high technology and me with my simple handmade craft  in a way at any path  "a good design" takes us to the creative minds.

Portable babysitter meets Hulk

My boy at 10 learned and about this portable mini games which most kids have. Famous as we call it "the portable babysitter". Nowadays, unlikely but admittedly, satisfying most parents to have these portable babysitter. WHY?  First, it minimizes of having a full time babysitter, an actual babysitter which would cost you an estimate of 15-20/Euro/hour?  Second, it keeps our children stationed in one place while playing with these virtual games and we do not have to be at 100% monitoring them running around while we do our household chores. Frees us from the word  "Freak out" freaking of too much things to do and  heightened our emotional state, such as that of fear, anger, or excitement.  Bringing them here ,there ,everywhere..parks for playrides etc...or amusement parks. YES, with these portables, all in one, a helping hand to most working parents.

To think about it we do must do something that what we wouldn't like our kids to be.  Being overwhelmed by these comforts of digital technologies in a way all of us is enjoying and appreciating what the new earth is. Not only with these Nintendo DS, Wii, Playstation, but to we do want to have all these new technologies from computers to cellphones.  Well, me myself  loves and follow new technologies.! Gosh the new iPhone 4s! really great!, Mac computers! the new Win 7 (Virtual machine) 2 pc's in one your xp and win!

But on the other hand we must be aware of the consequences of what we are dealing with . Helding our kids  from being active, addicted to it and to become isolated at most of the time. The manual works "handmade" a term that they would never learn! We all know that we are bound to it and to the consequences of whatever comforts of technologies we are having now.

Honestly I am one who's  guilty of giving this gameboys or nintendo to my son and so to distract him from his time with these portable toys,  I had come up to this idea of "Art Attack" a tv program which my son loves it. I am an artist and can make use of my talent to divert his attention and here below is a video sequence of our project. " Hulk vs Goku"
