School has started
and left behind this general cleaning of our study room . A messy room! All around piles of paper, crushed trashy papers, everywhere top and
bottom of the table, trash trash ... till the drawers for mom won't
see. A box of last year's books that need to be stored down the canteen .
Gosh! what a day!
Out!
out for a break ! Strolling along the corridor window shopping and to avoid
the toys and games shop we stopped at the bookstore. Here comes my son
with a book? Smilingly he made a different choice of interest this
time. I guess my arty time this summer worked! He picked this Art
Attack book with a weird cover page, a basin with eyes pop out, big
mouth and long big sticking tongue, cannot describe what it is but it
attracted his attention. We scanned the pages and its all art lesson
for kids like him.
Papier Master |
We got the idea of making it and landed on his room as a useful ornament. It help me teased his habit of being messy with his room /study room. With this weird looking basin had help to catch his attention and reminds him that we called him PapierMaster & its big tongue! the paper eater .
Well
satisfied by all means this arty lobby is working on him and we
continued doing other projects together, pencil holders, snake shoes
hooks, diary with its locket etc.. An Arty time even half an hour of the day is a quality moments together a way of sharing with him this hobby of mine.
Yes, not all of us has the patience and time, but I would say, "if
there's the will, there's a way" there are many other ways or
whatever activity we may share. This would mean the value of quality time together specially at this stage of their age. Lets make the most of it "As time goes By" flies and last
we know they are on their own.
Not only the value and quality time, somehow with my Arty Lobby, can teach him the art and logic of handmade.
